Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shine Bright like a Diamond. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Matt Black enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boy Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Black!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black throws a shot from downtown. Nelson moves away and avoids it.
A punch combination from Nelson misses.

and Black decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nelson's guard.
Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nelson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Black wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.
Nelson wants to stand and escape but Black is having none of it.
Black slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The referee asks Black politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Black prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like Black might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Black tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Black has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Black decides to stand back up.
Nelson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Black fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Black.
Boy Nelson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Black misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Black shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Black has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Black is looking to clinch but Nelson is avoiding it.

It looks like Matt Black has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Nelson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Black wants to clinch up but Nelson keeps it at a distance.
Nelson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Black counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Black is trying to get an arm triangle but Nelson is defending well.
Black is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Black wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nelson, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Black is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Black thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Black wants to control but Nelson is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Black is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nelson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black tries to clinch up but Nelson circles away and keeps his distance.
Black showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nelson.
Nelson looks to land a combination but Black avoids it well.

Nelson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boy Nelson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Black's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Black duly obliges.


It looks like Boy Nelson has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Black closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Black lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Nelson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Nelson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Black pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Nelson is pressed up against the cage. Black has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nelson down to the mat. Nelson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nelson throws a leg kick that is checked

and Black counters with a single leg into guard. Nelson didn't expect that.
Black looking to sit in guard and control but Nelson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Black wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Nelson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Black utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Black has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nelson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Black is looking for a triangle here but Nelson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Matt Black has got the better of the ground game so far.

Black manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Black wants to take a breather but Nelson is having none of it.

Black is looking to advance position but Nelson won't allow it.
Black is just content to waste time from the top position. Nelson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Nelson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Black tries to free his leg and advance position but Nelson is retaining full guard.
Black is looking to work some ground and pound but Nelson has wrist control.
Black wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.
Nelson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Black is controlling him.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Boy Nelson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Nelson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Black counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Black seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Black trying to control from half guard but Nelson is working away.
Black working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Nelson's thigh. Nelson counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Black pushes down on Nelson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Black is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nelson is just riding it out for now. Black eventually gives up the hold.

Black is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nelson!
Black fails to take his opponent's back.
Black punching from mount but Nelson doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Nelson is trying to stand up.

Black swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nelson is now in Black's guard. A big mistake from Black there, giving up the dominant position!

Nelson lands a couple of digs.
Nelson looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nelson trying to control but Black is working from the bottom.
Black looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Black is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Black is looking for a triangle but Nelson pushes his legs off easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Black holds on and takes a little breather.
Black is continuing to stall.

Black bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nelson's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Black trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom.
Nelson can't keep his opponent in guard - Black advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Black stalling.
Nelson is staying active underneath Black, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Matt Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Black has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
