PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damon Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Tucker will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damon Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Graves takes the fight into the clinch.

Graves turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Tucker can't do much from the bottom here.
Graves working the ground and pound but Tucker is defending the strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Tucker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Graves fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Graves throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Tucker is trying to control Graves's posture but Graves avoids it.
Graves throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Tucker works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Graves thows a huge punch but Tucker dodges it nicely.
Tucker gets full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Graves trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Tucker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Graves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tucker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tucker lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Tucker wants to pass the guard but Graves is keeping the position.
Tucker passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Graves can't do much from the bottom here.

Tucker is trying to get an arm triangle but Graves is defending well.

Tucker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Tucker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tucker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Graves has escaped the position, nice work there.

Tucker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Graves, who protects the arm well.
Graves is trying to buck Tucker off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tucker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Graves knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Craig Tucker dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tucker has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Graves is trying to keep an underhook but Tucker manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Craig Tucker has got the better of the ground game so far.

Tucker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Tucker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Graves doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tucker.
Graves pushes Tucker off looking to stand but Tucker dives back in and keeps control.

Tucker seems to be working for a kimura but Graves defends the submission attempt.

Graves could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Graves is looking to control Tucker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Graves avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tucker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Graves is just riding it out for now. Tucker eventually gives up the hold.

Tucker seems to be looking for submissions.
Graves is trying to stand back up but Tucker is controlling him
Tucker passes to full mount!
Tucker is trying to take his opponent's back.
Graves squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Tucker looking for a guillotine from mount but Graves is having none of it.

Tucker is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Graves to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Graves shrugs it off.

Tucker prevents Graves from getting the reversal.
Graves wants to control but Tucker is having none of it.

Tucker looking to isolate an arm here. Graves doesn't see it coming and as Tucker extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Tucker!
