Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thierry Boudreau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyoji Anzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anzai takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Anzai looks to throw a body kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Anzai gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Anzai has hold of one of Boudreau's legs. Boudreau is fighting the takedown attempt but Anzai gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Boudreau has a closed guard, preventing Anzai from standing up.
Anzai is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Boudreau has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anzai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anzai is on top in guard.

Let's hope that Anzai has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boudreau throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Anzai wants to control from the top but Boudreau keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Boudreau looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anzai is one step ahead there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boudreau misses with a straight right.
A right-left combo lands from Boudreau.
Kyoji Anzai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Anzai moves into range and clinches up with Boudreau.
Anzai with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Boudreau tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Anzai smiles and moves away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anzai can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Anzai has Boudreau pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Anzai pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boudreau tumbling to the mat - Anzai dives into Boudreau's guard.

Boudreau bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anzai's guard.

Boudreau has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thierry Boudreau.
