Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Carrot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jackjan Tio!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tio gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Carrot looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Tio is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Carrot is defending well.
Tio pressing his opponent against the cage.
Carrot is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Carrot tries to stall but Tio uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Carrot avoids the elbow strike from Tio, against the cage.
Tio with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tio is trying to force a seperation but Carrot has the dominant position.
A right hook to the body lands for Carrot.
Carrot jumps guard but Tio stands there with Carrot around his waist. Carrot gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Carrot has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Tio after a bit of a struggle.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tio ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tio no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Carrot wants to get up but he can't break Tio's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Tio looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Carrot postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tio is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carrot, into his guard.
Tio is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Tio works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tio seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Tio perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Let's hope that Tio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Tio maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Carrot could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Tio has cracked it and Carrot is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Tio!
