PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Jimmy Man will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man dives in and grabs Rossi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rossi pushes down on Man's head and hops out.
Man looks winded!

Rossi closes the distance and pushes Man back into the cage.
Man has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rossi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Rossi lands a takedown into guard.
Rossi's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Man looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rossi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rossi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rossi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rossi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Rossi drops back looking for a leg! Man is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Man manages to kick Rossi off! Rossi jumps back into Man's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rossi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Rossi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rossi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rossi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Rossi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rossi drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Rossi seems to have locked his on tight now - Man screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Rossi, as he picks up the win!
