Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kapteeni Valkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordan Vukovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordan Vukovic is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordan Vukovic!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vukovic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Valkonen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vukovic looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Vukovic dives in and grabs Valkonen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Valkonen pushes down on Vukovic's head and hops out.

and Valkonen counters with a nice uppercut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Valkonen, as that shot connected.
Vukovic throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

A little feinted left hand from Valkonen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Valkonen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Valkonen. No joy for Vukovic on that attempt.
Kapteeni Valkonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gordan Vukovic.
Vukovic feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vukovic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valkonen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Valkonen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Valkonen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Vukovic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valkonen's waist but Valkonen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vukovic off to one side.

Vukovic ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Valkonen is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Valkonen lands a nice shot that snaps Vukovic's head back.
Vukovic is looking to clinch but Valkonen is avoiding it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vukovic missing with a left hand there. Valkonen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Valkonen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

We've been told by Valkonen's head coaches at Team Tukkapölly that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
The crowd cheers as Valkonen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vukovic doesn't seem phased though.

A counter left hand to the body from Valkonen misses its target.
Vukovic goes for a double leg but Valkonen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Valkonen continues to drive forward.

Valkonen sends Vukovic crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Valkonen is motioning to the referee to let Vukovic up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Vukovic is rocked!
Valkonen is stalking Vukovic. Vukovic circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Valkonen, and it's lights out! Vukovic really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
