Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stem Cell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Austin Williams!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cell slips a jab from Williams.
Nice defenses there by Cell.
Cell changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Williams uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cell.
Cell throws out a loose jab but Williams uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cell throws a jab but it's blocked by Williams.
Cell checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Williams keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cell tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Williams is able to avoid easily.
Williams scores with a nice right hand.
Cell looks to land a right hand but Williams moved out of range.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cell sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Williams is refusing to be controlled, as Cell sits in half guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

letting Cell counter with a right hand.
Williams tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cell defends well and Williams ends up having to push Cell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Cell leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stem Cell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Williams.

Cell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Williams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cell tries to free his leg and advance position but Williams is retaining full guard.
Williams looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cell wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Cell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Stem Cell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Williams fails with the takedown.
Williams takes one to the side of the head.
Cell takes a swing at Williams's ribcage but misses.
Williams misses with a hook to the body
and Cell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Austin Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stem Cell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Williams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Williams throwing shots but Cell is blocking nicely.
Williams throws a strike but Cell avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Williams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stem Cell.
Well Cell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
