The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King lands with a nice body kick.

Davidson takes one on the chin but seems OK.

King clinches up with Davidson and pushes him back against the cage.
King gets through Davidson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Davidson wants to break free but King has control.
Davidson tries a body shot but King blocks it.

King pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Donk. King catches Davidson right on the button with a cross.

and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Davidson avoids a punch combination nicely.

King closes the distance and pushes Davidson back into the cage.
Davidson is trying to drag King to the mat but King just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Davidson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Davidson misses with a low kick as King jumps back.
Davidson scores with a shot to the body.
Davidson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Davidson throws a jab but it's blocked by King.

This has been an exciting period of action!

King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Davidson misses the jab.

King has Davidson up against the cage in a clinch.

Davidson swings wildly with an uppercut but King uses good head movement to avoid it.
Davidson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Davidson goes for a takedown attempt but King pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A slow jab from Davidson misses its intended target.
A clash of legs there as King blocks the low kick.
Davidson checks a low kick from King.
Davidson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Davidson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
King is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
King pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Davidson back to the cage. King follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Davidson is rocked!
Davidson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Oh Davidson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Davidson goes for a double leg but King avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as King continues to drive forward.
Davidson seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Combo King dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

No luck for Davidson with that takedown attempt.
King moves out of range as Davidson strikes.
King tries to bum rush Davidson with a series of wild strikes but Davidson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A head kick misses from Davidson.
Davidson misses with a wild body shot.
King throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davidson.
King slips under a jab.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Davidson checks a leg kick.
King is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
King connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Davidson tumbling to the canvas! King pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Davidson was done - good stoppage!
