The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McSlamm paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Phoenix throws a hook but McSlamm avoids it easily.

letting McSlamm counter with a right hand.
Phoenix throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McSlamm's head.
Phoenix throws out a loose jab but McSlamm uses good head movement to avoid it.
McSlamm is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Phoenix tries to land a leg kick but McSlamm saw it coming and moves away.

Phoenix throws the left hand but McSlamm avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McSlamm attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Phoenix wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Phoenix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McSlamm is looking to take a break and control but Phoenix is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Phoenix wants to improve his position but McSlamm is controlling well.
McSlamm is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

McSlamm lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Phoenix quite badly. Phoenix pulls McSlamm in close trying to recover. McSlamm postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Phoenix on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Phoenix doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

A less than humble Sara McSlamm misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
