Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rokicki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romulus Veres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rokicki comes into the arena with Survivor - Eye of the Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Piotr Rokicki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Romulus Veres!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veres throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rokicki looks to land a left hand but Veres moved out of range nicely.
Veres takes a swing at Rokicki's ribcage but misses.
Veres scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rokicki doesn't seem bothered though.
Rokicki drops his hands momentarily and Veres takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


It looks like Piotr Rokicki has been cut.
Veres takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Veres thumps Rokicki with a low kick.
A punch lands to the side of Veres 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Veres misses with a hook
and Rokicki counters with a body kick.
Veres throws a shot from downtown. Rokicki moves away and avoids it.
Rokicki chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Veres swings for the body but Rokicki moves out of range.
Rokicki looks to land a body kick but Veres moved away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Donk. Veres catches Rokicki right on the button with a cross.
Veres on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rokicki. Rokicki obviously looking to wear him down.
Veres pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rokicki is out of range and Veres settles back down.
An inside leg kick from Veres misses.
Rokicki throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Veres counters with a straight right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veres lands a nice shot that snaps Rokicki's head back.
Veres throws an overhand right that lands on Rokicki's shoulder, as Rokicki tries to avoid the shot.
Veres avoids the body shot from Rokicki.

Rokicki takes the fight into the clinch.
Veres blocks an uppercut.
Rokicki is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
A short uppercut from Rokicki.
Veres wants to break free but Rokicki has control.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Rokicki.
Still in the clinch, Rokicki scores with a nice short uppercut.
Veres blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Rokicki throws an elbow that misses.
Rokicki misses with a short punch on the inside.

Veres escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rokicki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rokicki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Rokicki misses with a low kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Veres finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rokicki avoids the body shot from Veres.
Rokicki throws a head kick but Veres moves out of range.
Rokicki misses with a wild body shot.
Veres has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Veres lands with a shot to the body.
Rokicki tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Rokicki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rokicki connects with a good right hand that stumbles Veres. Veres circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Rokicki throws a shot from downtown. Veres moves away and avoids it.
Veres thinks about the counter body kick.
Rokicki throws a head kick that half lands.

Rokicki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Veres circles away quickly and effectively.
Veres misses with a looping left.

Veres misses with a double jab.
The crowd cheers as Veres lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rokicki doesn't seem phased though.

Rokicki cracks Veres with a right hand to the side of the head.

Veres lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rokicki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Veres counters with a left to the body.
Rokicki fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Rokicki misses with a hook.
Rokicki checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Veres pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rokicki is out of range and Veres settles back down.
Rokicki appears to be looking for a big counter.
Veres throws a leg kick that is checked
and Rokicki counters with a left to the body.
Veres slips under a jab.
Veres takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice uppercut there from Veres.
Veres throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Veres thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rokicki with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Veres buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A cross from Veres lands.
Rokicki takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Veres, right into the meat.
Nice straight punches there by Rokicki. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rokicki.
Rokicki connects with a leg kick. Veres looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Veres cracks the inside of Rokicki's front leg.
Veres moves out of range as Rokicki throws a body kick.
Rokicki misses with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rokicki misses with a double jab
and Veres counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Veres keeps the fight on the outside.
Rokicki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Veres moves away.
A nice side step and Veres releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Romulus Veres will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Piotr Rokicki's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Veres takes a jab right on the kisser.
Piotr Rokicki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Veres throws a half hearted mid kick.
Veres lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rokicki's sensitive parts.
Veres tries to land a front kick but Rokicki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rokicki fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Veres.
Rokicki scores with a nice right hand.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rokicki. Veres shrugs it off though.
Rokicki misses the shot to the body.
Rokicki moves out of range as Veres throws a body kick.
Veres takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Veres swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rokicki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rokicki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Rokicki lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Romulus Veres seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rokicki lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Veres throws out a loose jab but Rokicki uses good head movement to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veres walks into a stiff left hand from Rokicki.
Veres keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rokicki.
Rokicki getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Veres moves into range and connects with a jab.
Veres throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Rokicki swings widly with a right hand
and Veres counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Piotr Rokicki's cut is getting worse.
Veres throws a head kick but Rokicki moves out of range.
Veres sizes up Rokicki with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


Rokicki is rocked!
Veres checks a low kick from Rokicki.
Oh Rokicki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rokicki moves away from the strike by Veres.
and Veres counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Rokicki! He's just covering up as Veres starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Romulus Veres!
Romulus Veres is the new middleweight champion!
