PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Martins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Snoop Lion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lion has chosen Let The Bodies Hit The Floor as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lion moves in looking to clinch but Martins pushes him off.
A little feinted left hand from Martins on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Martins throws a combination that misses

and Lion decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Martins's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lion throws a strike but Martins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Martins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lion gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Lion flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Martins tries to pass to full mount but Lion defends it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Martins wants to work for an arm triangle but Lion is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lion wants to improve his position but Martins is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lion fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Martins, pushing him back against the cage.

Martins manages to break the clinch.
Martins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd cheers as Martins lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lion doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Snoop Lion has been cut.
Lion takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Martins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lion circles away quickly and effectively.
Lion shoots and misses
and Martins counters with a nice uppercut.

Lion moves into the clinch.
Martins prevents the takedown attempt.
With the fighters up against the cage, Martins throws an elbow but misses.
Lion prevents a body shot from Martins.
Lion is looking to take this one to the mat.
Lucas Martins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Snoop Lion.
Lion is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Martins pulls him back up using the underhooks.

And Lion tries to counter it with a takedown but Martins pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Lion tries to close the distance and clinch up but Martins swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Martins lands an overhand right.

Lion is rocked!
Martins is looking to wear down Lion with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Lion is still on wobbly legs! Can Martins finish him?
Martins unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Lion! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Martins is unloading with more strikes now! Lion drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucas Martins!
