Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rune Holta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ante Pavelic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ante Pavelic!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pavelic.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holta tries to buck Pavelic off but Pavelic is having none of it.
Pavelic lands a few punches from side control.

Pavelic stands up and beckons Holta to his feet.

Pavelic has Holta up against the cage in a clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Holta.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pavelic has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Holta has hold of Pavelic's hands but Pavelic slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holta is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Oh Holta is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pavelic drops an elbow to the side of Holta's head.
Pavelic lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Holta quite badly. Holta pulls Pavelic in close trying to recover. Pavelic postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Holta on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Holta doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ante Pavelic!
In his post fight interview, Ante Pavelic gave a big smile as he said 'ZA DOM SPREMNI'.
