Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tre Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mamed Khalidov!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Cruz.
Khalidov checks a low kick from Cruz.
Cruz tests Khalidov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Khalidov moves out of range as Cruz strikes.
Cruz loads up on a big right hand but Khalidov slips the punch.
Khalidov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cruz moves forwards but Khalidov connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Khalidov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cruz is out of range and Khalidov settles back down.
Cruz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Khalidov manages to avoid it.
Khalidov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cruz moves away.
Cruz checks a leg kick nicely.
Khalidov tests Cruz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Khalidov moves out of range as Cruz throws a body kick.
Khalidov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Khalidov looks to land a combination. Cruz sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cruz changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Khalidov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Cruz moves into the clinch successfully.

Cruz moves into range and clinches up with Khalidov.
A frustrated look appears on Khalidov's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Cruz manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Khalidov is trying to break free.
Cruz misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Khalidov.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Khalidov is trying to maintain a safe position but Cruz gets an underhook and turns Khalidov into the cage.
Khalidov is trying to push Cruz away but Cruz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cruz prevents Khalidov from breaking the clinch.
Khalidov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cruz manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The referee is keeping an eye on Khalidov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Cruz scores with a shot to the side of Khalidov's head.

Khalidov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Cruz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Khalidov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cruz tries to stall but Khalidov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Our sources have told us that Cruz has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Khalidov prevents a body shot from Cruz.
Cruz working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Cruz is pushing Khalidov up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Khalidov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Khalidov lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cruz blocks a head kick by Khalidov.
Cruz looks to score with a jab to the body but Khalidov is just out of range.
Cruz jabbing away but nothing is landing.

It looked like Cruz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Cruz lands a nice hook to Khalidov's body. Khalidov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Khalidov throws a jab but it's blocked by Cruz.
Khalidov darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khalidov misses with a looping right.
A little feinted left hand from Cruz on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Khalidov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

and Cruz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Khalidov throws a jab but it's blocked by Cruz.
Khalidov throws a nice looking combination but Cruz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tre Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruz digs a good body shot into Khalidov's ribs.
Cruz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Khalidov momentarily.
Khalidov swings for the body but Cruz moves out of range.

Cruz lands a left and a right that send Khalidov crashing to the mat, dazed. Cruz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Khalidov is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cruz throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Khalidov is still on wobbly legs! Can Cruz finish him?
Khalidov looks winded!
and Cruz counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Khalidov! He's just covering up as Cruz starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
