Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Checky Pasela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrell Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pasela closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Spong's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spong is on top in guard.

Pasela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spong on the ground.

Spong lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pasela at a distance.

Spong jumps into guard, dragging Pasela to the mat.
Spong pulls Pasela in close to prevent any damage.

Spong is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pasela is aware though and is defending well.

Pasela is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Spong manages to get to full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pasela got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pasela has managed to get both his arms back between Spong's legs - danger averted.

A frustrated look appears on Spong's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Spong scores with a nice short uppercut.

Spong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spong tries for a takedown but Pasela sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pasela moves into range and clinches up with Spong.

Pasela has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spong is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Pasela shoots in for a takedown but Spong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Spong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pasela is fending him off so far but Spong persists. Nope, Pasela circles away and we're back to standing.
Pasela changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Spong lands with a slapping head kick.

Spong drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pasela pulls his leg out and moves away.

Spong has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pasela is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pasela reaches up to try and control the position but Spong seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Pasela rolls and tries to escape and now Spong has his back!

Spong's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Spong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
