Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chung Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olivar Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chung Bruce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Olivar Delgado!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delgado darts in looking for a takedown but Bruce gets double underhooks and turns Delgado into the cage.
Delgado throws a head kick but Bruce moves out of range.

Delgado closes the distance and clinches.

Delgado breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Delgado jumps guard but Bruce turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Delgado is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Chung Bruce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olivar Delgado.

Delgado breaks from the clinch.
Bruce really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Delgado shoots in for a takedown but Bruce shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bruce attempts a counter takedown but Delgado avoids it well and moves away.
No luck for Bruce with that takedown attempt.

and Bruce holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Delgado gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Delgado really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bruce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bruce tries to kick Delgado off but Delgado keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bruce manages to get to full guard.

Delgado must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Delgado trying to control the position from guard on top but Bruce is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Delgado postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bruce is looking to stand up but Delgado isn't so interested in that idea.
Bruce is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Delgado makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Delgado.
Bruce not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Bruce drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Delgado manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bruce has Delgado in his guard.

Bruce thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Delgado drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bruce looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bruce looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bruce!

Bruce fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bruce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Delgado is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bruce off and has taken his back!

Delgado is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bruce has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Delgado content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Olivar Delgado dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Delgado.

Bruce bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Delgado shoots in and drives through. Bruce sprawls well.
Delgado fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bruce has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Delgado tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Delgado moves into the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Delgado is pushing Bruce up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Delgado changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bruce fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Delgado lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Chung Bruce has been cut.

Bruce tries to circle away but Delgado has him pinned against the cage.
Bruce is trying to stall.
Delgado jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bruce walks away with a smile on his face. Delgado gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Chung Bruce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olivar Delgado.
Delgado shoots for a takedown but Bruce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Delgado moves into the clinch.
Delgado is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bruce is defending well.
Bruce is struggling to control the position.
Bruce gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Delgado.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bruce takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Delgado gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bruce regains guard.

Bruce is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Delgado presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Delgado has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bruce avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Delgado is breathing heavily.
Delgado is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bruce is defending well.
Bruce is trying to maintain a safe position but Delgado gets an underhook and turns Bruce into the cage.
Delgado changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bruce fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Delgado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bruce stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chung Bruce will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Delgado got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bruce has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Delgado has managed to get both his arms back between Bruce's legs - danger averted.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bruce holds on and takes a little breather.
Bruce wants to sweep but no luck.
Bruce wants to hit a switch here but Delgado passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Bruce there!

Delgado jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bruce is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bruce and Delgado has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Delgado swings around for an armbar but Bruce sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Delgado's guard.
Delgado is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bruce is looking to stand up but Delgado won't let him.

Delgado is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bruce presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Delgado jumps guard but Bruce turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Bruce has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Bruce landing with the ground and pound.

Bruce drops back looking for a leg! Delgado is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Delgado manages to kick Bruce off! Bruce jumps back into Delgado's guard.

Delgado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bruce gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Delgado utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bruce scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Delgado. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bruce has gone for a leg lock! Delgado slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bruce's guard.


Delgado drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bruce dives on top into guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
Olivar Delgado comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Delgado has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
