The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preuss slaps away a takedown attempt from Escobar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Preuss tries to close the distance and clinch up but Escobar swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Escobar looks for a takedown but Preuss sprawls well.

Escobar gets tackled into the cage by Preuss. Preuss maintains the clinch.
Preuss avoiding damage.
Escobar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Preuss smiles and moves away.
Erick Preuss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulio Escobar.
Preuss uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Escobar.
Preuss fails in his attempt to clinch.

Preuss forces Escobar back against the cage and clinches.
Preuss connects with a nasty looking knee right to Escobar's face.

It looks like Paulio Escobar has been cut.
Escobar fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Preuss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Preuss leaning against his opponent.
Escobar is looking for a takedown.
Preuss lands an elbow inside that Escobar shrugs off.

Preuss breaks from the clinch.

Escobar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Preuss is trying to keep Escobar in close.
Escobar trying to control the position from guard on top but Preuss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Preuss looking to hit a scissor sweep but Escobar is one step ahead there.
Preuss on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Preuss tries to get out of the position.

Preuss knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Escobar on the ground.
Escobar passes Preuss's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Escobar seems content to control.
Preuss is trying to control but can't.
Escobar works his foot free and advances to mount.

Escobar fails to move to back control.
Escobar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Preuss stops Escobar from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Escobar looking to isolate an arm here. Preuss doesn't see it coming and as Escobar extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Escobar!
