The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hangcook counters with a body kick that stops Nichols in his tracks momentarily.
Hangcook throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hangcook pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nichols misses with a double jab.
Nichols lands a body shot.
Hangcook comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nichols moves out of range of the body kick from Hangcook.
Nichols tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Hangcook manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Nichols swings wildly with an uppercut but Hangcook uses good head movement to avoid it.

and whilst Hangcook still has his hands down, Nichols counters with a perfectly aimed head kick that sends Hangcook crashing to the mat! Will he recover? 3,4,5,6,7 - he's back up! The referee looks into his eyes and asks him to walk forwards. He's going to allow this one to continue but will Hangcook be able to survive another onslaught?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
