Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brock Heyman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borat Sagdiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Borat Sagdiyev!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heyman lands an overhand right.

Heyman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sagdiyev!
Sagdiyev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sagdiyev wants to control but Heyman postures up.
Heyman trying to control the action but Sagdiyev is working from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Heyman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sagdiyev gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sagdiyev wants to get back to his feet.
Heyman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sagdiyev tries to get to full guard but Heyman has control of the leg.

We've been hearing good reports from Heyman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Heyman is keen to just control but Sagdiyev is a slippery customer.

Heyman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sagdiyev keeps working.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Heyman wants to control from the top but Sagdiyev keeps moving.
Sagdiyev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sagdiyev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Heyman controls the pace.

Heyman wants to control from the top but Sagdiyev keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sagdiyev tries to clinch up but Heyman circles away and keeps his distance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Heyman gets tackled into the ropes by Sagdiyev. Sagdiyev maintains the clinch.
Sagdiyev has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Heyman after a bit of a struggle.

Heyman tightens his grip and picks Sagdiyev up, before dumping him to the ground. Sagdiyev manages to land in guard.

Heyman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sagdiyev swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sagdiyev shoots for a double leg takedown but Heyman sprawls well. He's pushed Sagdiyev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Heyman seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sagdiyev.
Sagdiyev walks into a stiff left hand from Heyman.
Heyman tries a head kick but it misses.
Sagdiyev tries to close the distance and clinch but Heyman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sagdiyev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heyman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Heyman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sagdiyev, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Heyman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sagdiyev fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Heyman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sagdiyev defends it easily.

Heyman is looking to cinch up a triangle. Sagdiyev throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Heyman's body to avoid the submission. Heyman has instead reached around Sagdiyev's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Heyman arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Brock Heyman!

Brock Heyman decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
