The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Yamamoto moves into range and clinches up with Taylor.

Yamamoto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Taylor is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Taylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yamamoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taylor has managed to get both his arms back between Yamamoto's legs - danger averted.

Taylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yamamoto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Taylor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yamamoto dives on top into guard.

Yamamoto wants to get up but he can't break Taylor's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Yamamoto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yamamoto is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Taylor is trying to escape and Yamamoto transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Taylor is forced to tap! Nice work there by Yamamoto! Very nice indeed!
