Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Mcmahon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Anoi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Mcmahon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauricio Mcmahon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Anoi!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anoi gets the takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Anoi gets a takedown into half guard.
Mcmahon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mcmahon is staying active underneath Anoi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mcmahon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Anoi is working for a kimura but Mcmahon is defending it quite comfortably.
Anoi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Anoi is trying to control. Mcmahon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anoi is trying to control the position but Mcmahon postures up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Anoi gets control of Mcmahon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Anoi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mcmahon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Anoi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mcmahon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Anoi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcmahon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcmahon's back!

Joe Anoi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Anoi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Still in half guard, Anoi seems content to control.
Anoi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcmahon keeps working.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Anoi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mcmahon is trying to get back to full guard.

Anoi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mcmahon sprawls well initially but Anoi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mcmahon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Anoi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anoi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Joe Anoi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Anoi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
