Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Almedia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hermes Franca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franca has chosen Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almedia pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Almedia has managed to clinch.
Almedia is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Almedia taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Franca as Almedia tries to tie him up.
Franca lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Almedia or not.
Franca gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Almedia.

Almedia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Almedia scores with a one two! Franca had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That kick from Franca tenderised Almedia's leg. Almedia is trying to keep his angry face on.
Franca throws a hook but Almedia blocks it.

Franca tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Almedia looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Almedia leaves Franca with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Almedia on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Almedia sizes up Franca with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Almedia throws a series of punches but Franca moves out of range.
Almedia throws a nice looking combination but Franca bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Almedia lands a leg kick that knocks Franca off balance momentarily.
Almedia moves away from the strike by Franca.
Franca tries to score a power double leg takedown but Almedia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Franca somewhat.
Almedia throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A jab from Almedia finds it's way through Franca's defenses.

Almedia scores with a jab. Franca acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Franca counters with a nice body shot.
Almedia throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Franca on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Franca takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A slow jab from Franca misses its intended target.
Almedia misses with a hook
and Franca counters with a nice uppercut.
Franca shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jose Almedia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hermes Franca.

and Franca counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No luck for Franca with that takedown attempt.

Franca pushes Almedia up against the cage in a clinch.
Franca misses with a body punch.
Almedia tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Franca avoids it.
Franca misses with the head strike.

A nice leg kick lands there from Almedia.
Donk. Franca catches Almedia right on the button with a cross.
The fighters circle momentarily. Franca darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
and Franca counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Almedia! He's just covering up as Franca starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
