The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shore gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nguyen fails in his attempt to clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shore! But no joy.
Shore tries to bum rush Nguyen with a series of wild strikes but Nguyen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Nguyen tries to throw a body punch but Shore avoids it by throwing Nguyen back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shore had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nguyen defends it easily.
Nguyen tries to free his leg and advance position but Shore is retaining full guard.
Shore wants to sweep here but Nguyen controlling him for the moment.
Nguyen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shore swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nguyen advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The strikes coming from Nguyen are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Shore can't do much from the bottom here.
Check out the look on Nguyen's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Shore gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Shore has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Nguyen. Oh but Shore has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Nguyen goes limp - he's gone! Shore jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
