The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takajiri blocks the body kick.
Babedos misses with an attempted mid kick.
Babedos throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Babedos tries to land a body kick
and Takajiri makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Babedos really felt that one!
Takajiri avoids the body shot from Babedos.
Takajiri is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Babedos pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Takajiri has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Babedos is landing a low percentage of strikes.

and Takajiri counters with a shoot takedown. Babedos fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takajiri not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Takajiri pushing down on Babedos's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Babedos really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Takajiri is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Babedos is just riding it out for now. Takajiri eventually gives up the hold.

Takajiri passes to side control.
Babedos gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Takajiri takes Babedos's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Babedos is in trouble.

Takajiri is cranking Babedos's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Babedos! He's tightened the choke and Babedos is tapping out!
