Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuya Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pozar Pozar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tetsuya Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 24 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pozar Pozar!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate shoots for a double leg takedown but Pozar sprawls well. He's pushed Tate's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tate fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pozar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Tate changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pozar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

We've been hearing good reports from Tate's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Tetsuya Tate overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
