Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Witczak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Silva!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Silva scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Robert Witczak has been cut.
Silva scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Witczak dives in and scores a takedown into Silva's guard.
Witczak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Witczak seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
Witczak is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at RCJ Machado Jiu-Jitsu that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Witczak throws a big right hand that misses.
Witczak prevents Silva from getting back to his feet.
Silva avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Silva told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Witczak sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Witczak looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Silva!

Witczak working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Witczak controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Witczak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silva parries the strikes from Witczak easily there. Witczak is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Silva to escape.

Witczak is working to tighten his grip on Silva's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Silva has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Witczak is really squeezing tight and eventually Silva passes out! Witczak breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Robert Witczak!
A relieved looking Robert Witczak thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
