Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nino Niederreiter!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niederreiter thuds his shin into the meat of Brown's side.
Nino Niederreiter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Niederreiter has hold of Brown's hands but Brown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Niederreiter is trying to maintain the position but Brown is very close to passing his half guard.
Brown throwing shots but Niederreiter is blocking nicely.
Niederreiter tries to roll over but Brown keeps him under control.
Niederreiter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brown's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brown's back!
Brown biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape.

Niederreiter patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Well, with Niederreiter on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Brown is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Brown is trying to break free.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Niederreiter's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown is covering up but some of the strikes from Niederreiter are getting through and doing damage.


It looks like John Brown has been cut.

You can see the frustration on Brown's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Niederreiter is trying to stick to Brown's back but Brown is turning into Niederreiter. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Niederreiter's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Brown.
Niederreiter wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Niederreiter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and Niederreiter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between Niederreiter's legs - danger averted.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Niederreiter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Niederreiter but Niederreiter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And Niederreiter responds with a good body kick, but Brown manages to step out the way in time.
Niederreiter lands a nice shot to the body.
Niederreiter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Niederreiter as he avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Niederreiter! But no joy.
Brown goes for a double leg but Niederreiter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Niederreiter continues to drive forward.
Brown on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Niederreiter. Niederreiter obviously looking to wear him down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Niederreiter.
Niederreiter jabs Brown right on the nose. Brown blinks but takes it well.
Niederreiter lets loose with a powerful body kick. Brown will feel that in the morning.

Brown attempts a counter takedown but Niederreiter avoids it well and moves away.

Brown appears to be looking for a big counter.

Brown drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Brown connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Niederreiter some visible discomfort.
Brown in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Brown looking to control but instead Niederreiter has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Niederreiter has hold of Brown's hands but Brown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Niederreiter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Brown looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Niederreiter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Brown working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Brown thows a huge punch but Niederreiter dodges it nicely.

Brown postures up and lands a big shot to Niederreiter's brow.
Brown working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Niederreiter's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brown is nestled in close to Niederreiter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Brown tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

John Brown overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Niederreiter's face.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Niederreiter connects with a crisp jab.
Brown lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Niederreiter thows a left - swing and a miss!
Brown cracks Niederreiter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Niederreiter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Niederreiter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brown looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Brown takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Niederreiter connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Niederreiter moves into range and connects with a jab.

Brown dives in and scores a takedown into Niederreiter's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Niederreiter wants to sweep but no luck.
Brown connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Niederreiter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Niederreiter is tightening it up a little... Brown has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Brown reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Brown taps out! Nice BJJ there by Niederreiter!
