Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gavin Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock closes the distance and clinches.

Anstey forces Shamrock back against the cage and clinches.
Shamrock tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Anstey avoids it.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Anstey takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Anstey breaks from the clinch.

Anstey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Anstey showed some decent athleticism there.

Anstey decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

The strikes coming from Anstey are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Anstey is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Anstey tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Anstey decides to stand back up. Anstey steps back and let's Shamrock get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Anstey closes the distance and pushes Shamrock back into the cage.

Shamrock is fighting off a takedown attempt but Anstey is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shamrock to the mat. Shamrock regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Anstey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Anstey slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Shamrock gets tackled into the cage by Anstey. Anstey maintains the clinch.
Anstey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shamrock pulls his leg out and moves away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Anstey avoiding damage as Shamrock throws knees to the body.
Anstey just leaning against Shamrock, taking a breather.

Anstey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Corwin Anstey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Let's hope that Anstey has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Anstey thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Shamrock wanted to stand there but Anstey had control of the position.
Anstey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Shamrock keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shamrock is looking to counter the offense by Anstey and move into the clinch.

Well Anstey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
