Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benton Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Mcgregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Benton Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Mcgregor!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcgregor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Carroll scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Mcgregor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carroll prevents Mcgregor from breaking the clinch.
Carroll tries to pull guard but Mcgregor forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Carroll jumps guard but Mcgregor turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Mcgregor gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carroll throws a low kick but Mcgregor avoids it.
Carroll connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Carroll fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcgregor, pushing him back against the cage.

Carroll fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benton Carroll. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carroll ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Carroll no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mcgregor gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mcgregor digs a right hand into Carroll's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Carroll's gas tank.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mcgregor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mcgregor lands in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mcgregor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carroll avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Benton Carroll overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mcgregor is trying to trip Carroll. He has hold of a leg but Carroll is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mcgregor persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carroll wants to stand and escape but Mcgregor is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Carroll jumps guard and drags Mcgregor to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Carroll has momentary wrist control but Mcgregor slips an elbow through the middle.

Carroll isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mcgregor stacks Carroll on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mcgregor!

Mcgregor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcgregor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
