Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Cirkunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Thomson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler Thomson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomson throws a body punch but Cirkunov moves out of range.
Thomson looks for the body kick but Cirkunov saw that one coming.

Cirkunov drives through with a takedown into Thomson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Thomson has momentary wrist control but Cirkunov slips an elbow through the middle.
Thomson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomson is pulling down on Cirkunov's head. It's preventing any offense from Cirkunov, at least for the moment.
Cirkunov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cirkunov wanted to stand there but Thomson had control of the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Thomson keeping moving, preventing Cirkunov from controlling successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cirkunov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cirkunov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thomson can do anything to dispel that myth.
You can see the frustration on Thomson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cirkunov wants to stand but Thomson has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Thomson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Thomson holds on and takes a little breather.

Cirkunov trying to control but Thomson is working from the bottom.
Cirkunov postures up in Thomson's guard and throws a big left but Thomson blocks it.
Thomson has Cirkunov pulled in close to control his posture.
Cirkunov looking to pass the guard.
Cirkunov wants to control from the top but Thomson keeps moving.
Cirkunov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomson on the ground.
Thomson wants to sweep but no luck.

Cirkunov content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Thomson has locked up a guillotine! Thomson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Cirkunov is holding on here and Thomson must be using up a lot of energy. Cirkunov has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Thomson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
