Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Kha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kai Kha!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kha throws a wild body kick that Cooke sees coming a mile off.
Kha tries to work over Cooke's front leg with a kick but Cooke checks it.
Kha throws a sloppy body shot
and Cooke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A head kick misses from Kha.
Cooke slips under a jab.
Cooke looks to throw the jab but Kha is out of range.
Kha scores with a shot to the body.
Kha has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Cooke lands a jab to the nose.
Cooke throws a low kick but Kha moves out of range easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Kha misses.
Kha takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kha ducks under a wild hook from Cooke.
Cooke takes one to the side of the head.
Cooke throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kha throws a body kick that misses
and Cooke makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cooke throws a lazy right hand but Kha sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kha is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kha fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cooke.
Cooke takes a swing at Kha's ribcage but misses.
Cooke connects with a leg kick. Kha looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Kha throws a low kick, looking for Cooke's leg but Cooke calmly moves out of range.

Kha clinches.
Kha struggles to land a body shot inside as Cooke controls his hands.
Cooke misses with some punches.
Cooke lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kha backwards.
Kha throws a punch but it's blocked by Cooke.
Nice body punch from Kha - that landed with a thud.
Kha fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Kha misses with a body punch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cooke takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Cooke is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kha lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

I was talking to Cooke's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Cooke tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kha throws a punch but it's blocked by Cooke.
Cooke stalling in the clinch but Kha improves position.
Kha misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kha misses with a shot to the kidneys.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cooke tries to throw a body punch but Kha avoids it by throwing Cooke back against the cage.

Cooke swings wildly with an uppercut but Kha uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cooke lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Good leg kick by Kha there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kha feints and then cracks Cooke's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cooke down.
Cooke misses with a kick to the body.

Kha uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cooke.
Cooke throws a leg kick but Kha sees it coming and moves out of range.
It seemed like Kha was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kha throws a front kick that sends Cooke stumbling back into the cage.
Cooke looks to throw the jab but Kha is out of range.
Cooke swings widly with a right hand
and Kha counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cooke.
Kha misses with an uppercut
enabling Cooke to counter with a crisp jab.
Kai Kha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooke keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Kha moves out of range of the leg kick from Cooke.
Kha avoids the head kick by Cooke.
The fighters circling - Kha throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cooke slips a straight right by Kha.
Kha scores with a nice strike.
Cooke walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kha pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kha tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Cooke misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cooke moves out of range of the body kick from Kha.
Cooke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kha tries to land a front kick but Cooke steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cooke throws a body kick that misses.
Kha looks to land a left hand but Cooke moved out of range nicely.
A counter left hand to the body from Cooke misses its target.
Kha misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cooke throws a counter high kick but Kha was just alert enough to avoid it.

Kha fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cooke is out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kai Kha will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kha throws a lazy uppercut
and Cooke counters with a stiff right hand.
Kha connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kha throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kha on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Cooke sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Kha avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kha tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cooke appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kha lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kha throws a hook but Cooke blocks it.
Kha lands a jab.
Kha lands a nice hook to Cooke's body. Cooke takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kha ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kha fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cooke manages to avoid it.
Cooke takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kha goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
It looked like Cooke was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kha.
Cooke bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Cooke on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kha slips a straight right by Cooke.
Kha throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cooke stuns Kha with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Kha connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kha lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kha buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kha has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cooke scores with a shot to the body.
Cooke misses with a right hand
and Kha counters with a low kick, right behind Cooke 's knee.

Cooke throws a leg kick but Kha sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Cooke wants to slow Kha down by chopping away at his legs.
Kha throws a leg kick but Cooke checks it.
Cooke takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kha lands a nice looking body kick.
Kha throws a body kick that misses.

A thudding body kick lands there by Kha!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kha lands a head shot.
Cooke chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kha can pounce on him.

Kha tries a quick counter leg kick but Cooke is wise to it.
Kha looks to score with a jab to the body but Cooke is just out of range.
Cooke was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Kha connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kha dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Kha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cooke is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Kha thuds a left hand into Cooke's body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kha throws a front kick aimed at Cooke's knee but Cooke avoids it well.
A head kick from Cooke lands but Kha takes it in his stride.
Cooke chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kha can pounce on him.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Kha lands with a slapping head kick.
Cooke has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kha finds it's way round the side to connect with Cooke's head.

Kha lands a nice looking body shot.
Good leg kick by Kha there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Oh Cooke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cooke on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kai Kha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Kha feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cooke sprawling to the canvas! Cooke rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kha finish him?!
Kha fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cooke looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kha throws a hook to the side of Cooke's head but Cooke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Cooke seems to have got his legs back now.
Kha throws an overhand right that drops Cooke like a sack of potatoes! Kha dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kai Kha!
During a confident post fight interview, Kai Kha thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
