Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melchizedek Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rail Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rail Gracie will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Halo gets tackled into the cage by Gracie. Gracie maintains the clinch.

Gracie tries to land knees in the clinch but Halo avoids the damage to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Halo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.

Oooh a lovely combination from Halo sends Gracie down but not out. Halo dives into side control looking to finish.

Gracie takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Halo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Halo lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gracie will feel that in the morning.
A nice leg kick lands there from Halo.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Halo.
Halo circles away from the clinch attempt
and Halo counters with a solid body kick.

Halo lands a left and a right that sends Gracie crashing to the canvas! Halo dives into mount looking to finish!

Halo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gracie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gracie can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie wants to hold on but Halo pushes him away.
Gracie is trying desperately to improve position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Halo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Gracie's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gracie wants to stay close but Halo steps back to make room for something. Gracie seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Halo and Gracie drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
