Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Napoleon Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Rogers will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Napoleon Randolph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randolph takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Randolph throws an elbow but it misses.

Randolph's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Randolph closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rogers's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers has his foot on Randolph's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Randolph works his way back into a safe position though.
Randolph really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Randolph has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rogers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rogers is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Randolph is defending well.
Rogers wants to take the fight to the mat but Randolph manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rogers lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rogers.


It looks like Napoleon Randolph has been cut.
Rogers closes the distance and clinches up with Randolph, looking for a takedown. Rogers pushes Randolph against the cage but Randolph circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Randolph got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Randolph has managed to get both his arms back between Rogers's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rogers clinches.

Randolph's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rogers swats away the attempt to clinch by Randolph.
Rogers feints the counter takedown.
Rogers misses with a series of wild punches.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Randolph pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown but Randolph manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rogers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Michael Rogers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Napoleon Randolph is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rogers throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Randolph counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Well Randolph has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
