Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between MC Wisk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, MC Wisk!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stan Smith !
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Smith closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Stan Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Smith checks a leg kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Wisk.
Smith slips under a jab.
Wisk keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Smith with a lazy takedown attempt
and Wisk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wisk has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Sali in the buildup to the fight.
Wisk stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wisk wants it to stay on the feet.
Wisk swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Wisk leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
MC Wisk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Smith .
Wisk lands a leg kick that knocks Smith off balance momentarily.

Smith throws a hook to the side of Wisk's head but Wisk sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wisk tries to counter by clinching up but Smith breaks away and moves out of range.
Wisk moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Wisk is looking to counter the offense by Smith and move into the clinch.
Smith scores with a jab. Wisk acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Smith misses with a straight right.
Wisk wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.
Smith throws a series of punches but Wisk avoids them all with ease.
Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Wisk scores with a nice body kick.
Wisk scores with a hook to the body. Smith takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wisk moves out of range of the strikes.
Wisk lands a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Wisk manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've been informed that Smith has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Smith misses with a hook. Wisk ducked under it nicely.
Smith throws a hook but Wisk blocks it.

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wisk is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Smith prevents Wisk from standing back up.
Wisk moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wisk has Smith pulled in close to control his posture.

Wisk is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.
Wisk is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wisk keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wisk swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wisk fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith staying out of range there.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wisk as he avoids it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Wisk misses its target.
Wisk pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smith throws a left and a right that both miss

and Wisk counters by moving into the clinch.
Wisk has a couple of punches blocked by Smith .
Wisk is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wisk down to the mat. Wisk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Wisk moves away from the strike by Smith .
Smith on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Stan Smith has been cut.
Smith misses with a double jab
and Wisk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith looks to land a combination but Wisk avoids it well.
Wisk is looking to counter the offense by Smith and move into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wisk pinned against the cage. Wisk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wisk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith .

Wisk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?

Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A quick step to the side and Wisk tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Wisk rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.

Smith is looking for a takedown.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smith manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Wisk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wisk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.
Wisk tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.

and Wisk counters with an outside leg kick.
Wisk lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith 's hand.

Wisk lands a leg kick that knocks Smith off balance momentarily.
Smith goes for a double leg but Wisk avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wisk continues to drive forward.
Smith swings for the body but Wisk moves out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

A looping hook to the body misses from Wisk. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith throws out a loose jab but Wisk uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wisk lands a big head kick that sends Smith tumbling to the mat! Wisk takes a step backwards and waves Smith back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Smith is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wisk knocks out Smith with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Wisk before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Wisk picks up the big W with a huge KO!
