Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Petty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Du Toit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Du Toit looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Du Toit!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petty throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Du Toit looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Petty moves into the clinch successfully.
Du Toit stalling against the cage.

Du Toit manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Petty with a flurry of punches that miss.
Petty trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Du Toit can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Petty accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Petty seems to be looking for submissions.
Du Toit has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Petty is working away from the top position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Petty is looking to clinch but Du Toit is avoiding it.
Petty tries a low kick but Du Toit avoids it.
Du Toit changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Du Toit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Petty will probably get the nod.
That's time! Petty's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Du Toit not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Du Toit bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Petty gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Du Toit to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Du Toit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Petty swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Du Toit tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Du Toit is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Roy Du Toit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Du Toit has closed the distance and engaged Petty in a clinch.
Petty tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Du Toit smiles and moves away.

Petty bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Du Toit's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Du Toit creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Petty sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Du Toit is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Petty is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Petty throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Du Toit thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roy Du Toit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Du Toit has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
