The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salty misses with a shot to the body
and Grushevky counters with a left and a right that stings Salty.
Elmo Salty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy body kick from Salty
and Grushevky counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Salty closes the distance and clinches.
I was talking to Salty's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Salty breaks the clinch.
Grushevky misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Salty throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Valeriy Grushevky has been cut.
Grushevky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Salty tries to land knees in the clinch but Grushevky avoids the damage to the body.
Grushevky's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Salty lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Grushevky is trying to break free.
Salty lands a left hand that snaps the head of Grushevky backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Salty's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Salty misses with a head kick.
Grushevky avoids a kick to the body.
As Salty backs off Grushevky throws a huge counter combo but Salty manages to avoid it all.
Salty lands a big head kick that sends Grushevky tumbling to the mat! Salty takes a step backwards and waves Grushevky back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Salty gets a clinch.
Salty lands a hook that snaps the head of Grushevky backwards.
Salty manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salty clinches with his opponent.
Salty lands an uppercut.
Grushevky is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Salty is keeping busy.
Salty escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grushevky blocks a head kick by Salty.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grushevky throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Grushevky throws a head kick that misses
and Salty counters with a head kick that drops Grushevky to the mat! Grushevky scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Salty sends Grushevky crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Salty is motioning to the referee to let Grushevky up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Grushevky is rocked!
Grushevky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Salty swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Grushevky pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Salty tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Salty cracks Grushevky with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Salty has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Grushevky to stand back up!
Grushevky is still on wobbly legs! Can Salty finish him?
Grushevky walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Salty swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Elmo Salty!
