Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hector Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ground Guru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Not Afraid. Ground Guru looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ground Guru!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guru fails with a takedown attempt.

Davis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guru felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guru is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Davis scores with a couple of nice shots.
Hector Davis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Davis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Guru is not content to let Davis control the position.
Davis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Guru with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Guru on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Davis cracks Guru with a big right hand but Guru just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Well Davis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
