Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Domino Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Domino Kennedy!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Silva!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kennedy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Silva backs up against the cage.
Kennedy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Kennedy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kennedy trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
Silva prevents Kennedy from getting back to his feet.
Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kennedy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kennedy is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kennedy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Domino Kennedy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Domino Kennedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva staying out of range there.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Kennedy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kennedy throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it.
Silva feints the counter takedown.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Kennedy sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It looked like Kennedy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kennedy loads up on a big right hand but Silva slips the punch.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Kennedy fights it but they end up in guard.

Kennedy can't keep his opponent in guard - Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva moves into full mount! Kennedy won't be happy about that!
Kennedy is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at London Catch Wrestling that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kennedy is surviving well by controlling Silva's body position as best he can.
Kennedy is working to get back to half guard.
Kennedy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva fails to move to back control.
Silva wants to control the pace but Kennedy is squirming around nicely.

Silva has control of Kennedy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kennedy regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kennedy is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Silva locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Kennedy is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roberto Silva! Roberto Silva retains his lightweight title!
Roberto Silva seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Domino Kennedy stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll be back, and I'll get better. Thanks for coming and watching me fight tonight, everybody!'.
