The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall tries for a takedown but Ruhian circles away easily
and Ruhian counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Marshall gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice jab there from Ruhian.
Marshall instigates a clinch.
Marshall is trying to pull guard but Ruhian has him pressed against the cage.
Marshall has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ruhian uses from the top position.

Ruhian decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Marshall, up you get!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruhian looks to land a combination but Marshall avoids it well.
Marshall went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Marshall throws a series of punches but Ruhian avoids them all with ease.
Ruhian swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Marshall.

Marshall fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ruhian.

Marshall throws a wild hook but Ruhian just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Marshall gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Ruhian raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iko Ruhian!
Iko Ruhian decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
