Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pieter Daan Mostert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Slade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pieter Daan Mostert!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mostert fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Slade sprawls well initially but Mostert persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mostert thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Slade's head.
Mostert is taking a breather. Slade says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mostert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slade swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mostert closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mostert tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mostert has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Slade regains half guard, as Mostert was trying to land strikes.

Slade is defending against the submission attempts here by Mostert.
Mostert thows a huge punch but Slade dodges it nicely.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mostert in particular looking to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mostert goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Slade has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mostert but great work by Slade.

Mostert somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Mostert is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Slade with him. Slade is trying to defend but Mostert has an arm under the chin now! Slade grimaces and is forced to tap out!
