Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Gallagher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jovan Dusic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jovan Dusic has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallagher takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dusic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gallagher throws a push kick but Dusic slaps the foot to one side.

Gallagher gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dusic to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dusic postures up.
Gallagher looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dusic is one step ahead there.
Dusic seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gallagher not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dusic not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dusic gets to his feet - Gallagher follows without any prompting.
Jovan Dusic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dusic shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gallagher's guard.
Dusic sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gallagher's guard.
Gallagher is looking to control Dusic's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gallagher avoid being mounted?
Gallagher on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Dusic content to control rather than advance.
Gallagher wants to improve his position but Dusic is controlling well.
Dusic takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Dusic prevents Gallagher from improving his position.

Dusic stands up and beckons Gallagher to join him on the feet.
Gallagher closes the distance but Dusic moves to the side
and Dusic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gallagher tries to close the distance and clinch but Dusic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dusic rushes Gallagher and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dusic stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Dusic prevents a body shot from Gallagher.
Dusic is trying to break the clinch but Gallagher has him pressed against the cage.
Gallagher keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dusic's efforts to push away.

Dusic prevents the takedown attempt.

Dusic is trying to trip Gallagher. He has hold of a leg but Gallagher is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dusic persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Dusic is standing up over Gallagher. Gallagher looks to escape but Dusic dives into side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Dusic landing strikes.
Dusic in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Gallagher gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dusic lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gallagher is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gallagher is breathing heavily.
Gallagher is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dusic jumps into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Dusic is putting a hurting on Gallagher here, landing some big shots from side control.
Dusic is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Dusic decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gallagher to his feet.
Gallagher fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dusic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gallagher did well to prevent Dusic getting side control.
Dusic passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gallagher!
Dusic has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dusic looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dusic looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gallagher with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
