Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilbur Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Cron!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cron clinches.

Peterson lands a takedown into guard.

Cron looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cron wants to sweep here but Peterson controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cron pulls Peterson in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cron utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cron striking off his back but it's not causing Peterson any problems.
Peterson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cron seems keen to control Peterson's posture.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Peterson postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cron shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peterson as he avoids it easily.

Cron closes the distance and clinches.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Cron fails to pull guard.
Peterson tries to work over Cron's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Peterson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cron clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Peterson keeps control of the position as Cron tries to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cron is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Peterson is working the ground and pound. Can Cron escape?
Cron is covering up but some of the strikes from Peterson are getting through and doing damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

You can see the frustration on Cron's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Cron keeps trying to improve his position.
Peterson scores with punches and elbows.
Peterson looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Peterson lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Cron hold on?!
Cron is trying to break free.

Peterson looking to break Cron's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Cron remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Peterson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

That's time! Peterson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Cron drives through and clinches with Peterson against the cage.
Peterson looking for a takedown.
Peterson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cron after a bit of a struggle.
Peterson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cron smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilbur Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cron lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Wilbur Peterson has been cut.
Peterson misses with a head kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peterson tries to pull guard but Cron forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Peterson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cron fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Peterson gets tackled into the cage by Cron. Cron maintains the clinch.
Cron is pressed up against the cage. Peterson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cron down to the mat. Cron avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cron closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Peterson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Peterson is trying to pull guard but Cron has him pressed against the cage.

Cron jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peterson walks away with a smile on his face. Cron gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jason Cron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cron clinches up against the cage.
Peterson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cron breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cron moves into the clinch successfully.
Peterson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cron.
Peterson is looking to control Cron's arms but Cron gets an underhook and turns him. Now Peterson has his back to the cage.

Cron pulls Peterson into guard.
Peterson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cron is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Peterson manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Cron throws a right and a left that Peterson avoids nicely.
Peterson throws a quick counter head kick but Cron was just out of range.
Cron fails with the takedown
and Peterson counters with a one-two to the body.
Cron dives in and grabs Peterson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes down on Cron's head and hops out.
A head kick misses from Peterson.
Peterson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cron but Cron pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Good work by Peterson as he checks the leg kick.

Cron rushes Peterson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cron misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Cron escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cron has closed the distance and engaged Peterson in a clinch.
Peterson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cron.

Cron is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Cron showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Wilbur Peterson's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Cron gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Peterson shoots in for a double leg but Cron sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Cron moves into the clinch.
Cron's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cron is struggling to control the position.
Peterson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Cron takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cron pulls Peterson into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cron has momentary wrist control but Peterson slips an elbow through the middle.
Cron avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Cron looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Peterson has picked Cron up and slammed him! Cron can't keep hold of the triangle and Peterson manages to pass to side control!
Peterson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Cron on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Peterson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cron down.
Cron tries to bench press Peterson off him but Peterson keeps the position.
Wilbur Peterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Peterson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Peterson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cron is still in real trouble! Can Peterson finish him?
Peterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Peterson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Cron is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Peterson yanks on the arm and Cron is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Peterson.
