Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Massa Hurmaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Face has chosen Tyga - Real Deal as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurmaaja fails to land the takedown.
Massa Hurmaaja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hurmaaja is defended easily by Face.
Hurmaaja throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Face's waist but Face gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hurmaaja off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Massa Hurmaaja. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Face's coach down at The Highland Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Face's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Face sizes up Hurmaaja with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Hurmaaja is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Face.
Face swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Good exchange - Face coming out on top.

Hurmaaja doesn't manage to clinch there - Face circles away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hurmaaja displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Face throws out the jab.

Face moves out of range as Hurmaaja strikes.
Face throws a leg kick but Hurmaaja moved away.
Hurmaaja tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Face manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Face looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Angel Face is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hurmaaja shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Face defends it nicely.

Hurmaaja misses with a takedown attempt - Face sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Hurmaaja with that takedown attempt.
Face is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hurmaaja had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Hurmaaja gets the takedown into side control.
Hurmaaja creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Face sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hurmaaja tries to score with some ground and pound. Face controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Face stops Hurmaaja from passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurmaaja remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hurmaaja has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Face is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hurmaaja yanks on the arm and Face is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hurmaaja.
