Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Aurelius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krabis Kropelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Aurelius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Krabis Kropelis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kropelis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Aurelius circles away.
Kropelis shoots in and drives through. Aurelius sprawls well.
Aurelius went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Aurelius swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aurelius swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kropelis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Aurelius manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Aurelius lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kropelis circles away quickly and effectively.

Kropelis drives through with a takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kropelis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kropelis tries to free his leg and advance position but Aurelius is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aurelius wants to stand but Kropelis is controlling the position.
Kropelis works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kropelis is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Kropelis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Aurelius definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Aurelius stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aurelius wants it to stay on the feet.
Marcus Aurelius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Krabis Kropelis.
Aurelius slaps away a takedown attempt from Kropelis, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kropelis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kropelis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aurelius looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kropelis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kropelis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
It looks like Kropelis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Aurelius is looking to get back to his feet here but Kropelis is keeping cool and he's managed to take Aurelius's back.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Aurelius wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Aurelius will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Kropelis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aurelius scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kropelis manages to mount him!
Kropelis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aurelius is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Kropelis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
More stalling from Kropelis.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Aurelius is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Kropelis controlling from mount.
Aurelius's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Kropelis.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kropelis with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

Kropelis is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Aurelius fails to land with a series of punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kropelis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kropelis is taking a breather. Aurelius says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kropelis wants to free his trapped foot but Aurelius is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Aurelius is trying to stand back up but Kropelis is controlling him
Kropelis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krabis Kropelis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kropelis closes the distance and clinches up with Aurelius, looking for a takedown. Kropelis pushes Aurelius against the cage but Aurelius circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Aurelius seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kropelis is defended easily by Aurelius.
Kropelis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kropelis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marcus Aurelius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Krabis Kropelis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aurelius bucks up and tries to throw Kropelis off but instead Kropelis has got his back!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Aurelius is trying to stand back up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kropelis is riding his opponent, not letting Aurelius buck him off.
Kropelis is continuing to stall.
Aurelius is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kropelis is riding his opponent, not letting Aurelius buck him off.
The adventures of Kropelis the control monster continue. Boring.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Krabis Kropelis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kropelis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Krabis Kropelis misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
