The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pillman moves out of range of the strikes.

It looks like Raoul Clavette has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pillman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Clavette takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Clavette throws a right and a left that both miss.

Pillman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Clavette avoids it really well and circles away.

We've been told by Clavette's head coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (5* Sparring) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Clavette takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Pillman slips a straight right by Clavette.
Pillman feints the counter takedown.
Pillman cracks Clavette with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Pillman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Clavette lands a lovely overhand right.

Pillman is holding his hands too far apart here. Clavette throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Pillman is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
