The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heap defending well as Viulu loads up on a big left hand.
Heap stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fight stays on the outside here - Heap looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Heap will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Heap misses with a few strikes there.
Heap blocks a jab.
Viulu scores with a decent looking hook.

Heap has Viulu up against the cage in a clinch.
Heap blocks an uppercut.
Heap pushes off an throws an elbow but Viulu leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Viulu trying to control the position but instead, Heap has worked for underhooks and has pushed Viulu into the cage.

Viulu breaks from the clinch.
Viulu has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Viulu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Heap circles away quickly and effectively.
Heap wants to slow Viulu down by chopping away at his legs.
Heap is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Heap throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Viulu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Viulu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've been told by Heap's head coaches at Holding Cell that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Viulu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Viulu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Heap manages to avoid it.
Viulu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Heap looks to land a left hand but Viulu moved out of range nicely.
Viulu is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Heap with a body shot.

Heap throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Viulu sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Viulu lunges at Heap with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Heap's hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Viulu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Heap slips a straight right by Viulu.
Heap thuds a left hand into Viulu's body.
Good exchange - Viulu coming out on top.
Heap tries to clinch up.

Heap moves into the clinch.
Viulu managing to block the knees to the body from Heap.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Viulu.

Heap lands an elbow inside that Viulu shrugs off.

Viulu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Viulu lands a nice shot that snaps Heap's head back.

Viulu takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Heap steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Viulu.
Viulu scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Heap on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Heap wants to clinch up but Viulu keeps it at a distance.

Heap is rocked!

Heap drives through and clinches with Viulu against the cage.
A short uppercut from Viulu.
Oh Heap is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Viulu is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Heap is keeping busy.
Heap seems to have got his legs back now.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Heap as Viulu tries to tie him up.
Viulu tries to work over Heap's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Heap lands an elbow inside that Viulu shrugs off.
Viulu tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Heap's elbow.
Heap lands a knee to the body.
Viulu wants to stall.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Heap lands a knee to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Viulu lands a nice uppercut.
Viulu is looking to control Heap's arms but Heap gets an underhook and turns him. Now Viulu has his back to the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Viulu is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Heap has denied him.
Viulu tries to throw a body punch but Heap avoids it by throwing Viulu back against the cage.
Viulu tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Viulu dodges an elbow strike from Heap.
Viulu is pushing Heap up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Viulu is trying to stall.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Luu Viulu.
Viulu cracks Heap with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Heap on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Heap tries to close the distance and clinch but Viulu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Viulu lands with a hook. Heap tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Viulu throws a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luu Viulu dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Viulu ducks under a wild hook from Heap.
Heap tries to close the distance and clinch up but Viulu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Heap lands a body shot.

Viulu sends Heap crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Viulu is motioning to the referee to let Heap up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
A lazy left from Heap finds it's target.
Viulu steps in with a hook that catches Heap right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Viulu follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Heap looks absolutely devastated.
