Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Minh Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Truman!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Truman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Truman cracks Flores with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Flores tries to clinch up but Truman circles away and keeps his distance.
Truman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Truman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Flores's guard.
Truman controlling from the top position.
Flores will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Flores is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Truman defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Truman passes Flores's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Truman decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Truman will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A nice combination there by Truman.
Flores fails in his attempt to clinch.
Flores tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Truman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Flores!
Truman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Flores is looking for a sweep.
Flores is letting Truman control him for a moment.
Truman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Truman in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Truman misses with the ground and pound.
Flores tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Truman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Truman taking a breather here.
Truman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Flores, who protects the arm well.
Truman stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Truman keeps the fight on the outside.
A little jabbing left from Truman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Truman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Flores tries to clinch but Truman moves away
and Truman counters with a straight right hand.
Flores is rocked!
Truman cracks Flores on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Flores falls backwards against the cage. Truman follows up with more strikes that drop Flores to his knees. Truman keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Flores! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joseph Truman!
