Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bates comes to the cage accompanied by Doused. Marcus Pereira has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bates closes the distance and clinches.
Bates trying to land knees to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Bates's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Pereira tries to pull guard but Bates won't allow it.
Bates pressing his opponent against the cage.

Bates has Pereira pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bates pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pereira tumbling to the mat - Bates dives into Pereira's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Pereira has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bates can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pereira bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bates's guard.

Bates can't keep his opponent in guard - Pereira advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Pereira has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at London Catch Wrestling. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Pereira takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Pereira stops Bates from getting back to his feet.
Pereira slows the pace down in half guard.
Pereira prevents Bates from standing back up.

Pereira is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bates doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pereira.

Pereira maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bates could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Pereira has cracked it and Bates is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Pereira!
