Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and aj es (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, aj es!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
es misses with a right hand
and Carroll counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Carroll gets a double leg takedown into es's guard.
Carroll connects with a couple of short punches.
Carroll wants to stand but es is controlling his posture from full guard.

es working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Carroll has passed into half guard!

es looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
es is looking for a sweep. Carroll is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carroll looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

es is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carroll pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

es is looking for a sweep. Carroll is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Carroll will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Carroll seems to be working for a kimura but es defends the submission attempt.

es is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carroll pulls his head out easily.
Carroll looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Carroll has hold of es's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and es manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Carroll has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of es's face.
es bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Carroll drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carroll jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Carroll avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
es misses with a two punch combination.

es misses with a hook. Carroll ducked under it nicely.
Carroll takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Carroll is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that es can do to turn this around?

Carroll really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

es looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carroll has picked es up and slammed him! es can't keep hold of the triangle and Carroll manages to pass to side control!

es's corner calls for a 1-2. es obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Carroll takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

es throws an overhand right that lands on Carroll's shoulder, as Carroll tries to avoid the shot.

Carroll is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Carroll cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Carroll lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
es is trying to break free.
Carroll has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

I would not like to be es right now.
es is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Carroll is looking for the choke from the back position but es is controlling his hands well.

Carroll is trying to stick to es's back but es is turning into Carroll. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Carroll's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by es.

es is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carroll is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carroll has escaped and now he's on top!

es sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carroll in particular looking to stall.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carroll, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
