The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Choate swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Gomes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A counter left hand to the body from Choate misses its target.
Good shot there by Gomes.
Gomes tests Choate's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Choate feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gomess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gomes misses with a kick to the body
and Choate counters with a nice uppercut.
Dave Gomes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomes throws a low kick, looking for Choate's leg but Choate calmly moves out of range.
Choate lands with a kick to the ribs.
Choate clobbers Gomes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Gomes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Choate.
Gomes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gomes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Choate sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Choate pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Choate takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Gomes tries to land a leg kick but Choate saw it coming and moves away.
Gomes lands with a nice body kick.
Choate looks to score with a jab to the body but Gomes is just out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gomes! But no joy.

Gomes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Choate preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Gomes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Choate's head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gomes working his ground and pound in the gym.

Gomes stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Choate throws up his legs and catches Gomes in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Gomes tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Choate! That came out of nowhere!
