Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sara McSlamm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Phoenix will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
36 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sara McSlamm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Phoenix looks to throw the jab but McSlamm is out of range.
McSlamm drops down looking for a counter takedown but Phoenix sprawls and moves away.
McSlamm feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McSlamm connects with a couple of short punches.
Phoenix looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Phoenix working for a triangle but McSlamm defends it easily.
Phoenix has his foot on McSlamm's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McSlamm works his way back into a safe position though.
McSlamm trying to control the position from guard on top but Phoenix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McSlamm got a little sloppy there for a moment and Phoenix has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McSlamm has managed to get both his arms back between Phoenix's legs - danger averted.
McSlamm lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Phoenix looking to hit a scissor sweep but McSlamm is one step ahead there.

McSlamm won't allow Phoenix to sweep him here.

Phoenix looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Phoenix can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McSlamm controls the pace.
McSlamm stands up over Phoenix, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
McSlamm postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Phoenix covers up, he's hurt! McSlamm keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from McSlamm and the ref steps in to end the fight! McSlamm can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sara McSlamm!
Sara McSlamm was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
